THE BEST WAYS TO CARE FOR YOUR EYELASH EXTENSIONS

You’ve just gotten your lashes done, and you’re probably wondering how to make the most of them and make them last! Here is a breakdown of the top best ways for you to care for your eyelash extensions. These steps will not only help your extensions last longer between appointments, but also make sure there’s no infection and/or damage to your natural lash. I take natural lash health very seriously. How many times have we heard that lash extensions damage natural lashes? Not on my watch! When extensions are applied correctly, there is no damage to natural lashes. However, it is a team effort! You have to do your part as well. Here are the best ways to care for your investment, eye and lash health:

The absolute most important thing is to WASH THEM with lash bath every day! Using a fluffy lash cleansing brush and special lash shampoo (I have these available), you must cleanse 1-2 times a day. I will show you how to properly cleanse them at your appointment. If you ever have questions, please ask. Getting them wet will not be enough to cleanse them. Only shampooing on the ends will not be enough to cleanse them. That would be like just getting your hair wet and not using shampoo, or only using shampoo on the ends and not your scalp. I can show you pictures of lash mites and blepharitis if you really want to be inspired to clean your lashes.

No lash curlers, no strip lashes or cluster lashes, no mascara, no waterproof and/or gel liners, no q-tips! These will ruin your extensions, make fills impossible, and cause friction making your lashes come off.

If you use setting sprays, cover your lashes while spritzing.

Comb your lashes daily!

Avoid heat from campfires, ovens, blunts, bongs, smoking, you get it! This will singe the ends of your lashes and turn them into a brittle melted mess. They will have to be removed, and you’ll have to book a full set or extended fill.

Don’t pick or pull your lashes, or rub your eyes.

This is a strange one, but it’s happened before so it has to be said…. don’t use a toothbrush to clean your lashes.

Book your fills every 2-3 weeks.

Caring for your lashes is really easy, and in no time will be like second nature!
